When it comes to green furniture design, it gets not much more natural than Soilid Chair Erez Nevi Pana, which is made of a mixture of Earth, mushrooms and other natural materials. The materials are measured by volume and weight, mixed and left to rise overnight at room temperature. Soilid mixture can then shaped and molded in a cast or a wood mold to create different shapes.
The combination of the ground with mushrooms and sugar creates a chemical reaction that allows the 'paste' to rise and double in size. After cooking, the structure becomes solid and strong enough to be sanded, sawn and drilled. With inexpensive ingredients that are widely available, this new material could be easily produced anywhere in the world.
