Aaron D’Innocenzo Built this Green Desert Home by Himself in Eight Years

It took a full eight years for Aaron to finish building his striking 148 square meter home in the Mojave Desert since he used no contractors, sub-contractors or helpers to get the job done. And it was worth every minute – at least we think so.

Constructed with passive solar principles, the home is heated and cooled without any HVAC systems. And it is exceptionally energy efficient due to insulation and other creative interventions. The interior is spectacular. Notice the slate tiles – both inside and outside, which pay respects to this very special site. We love desert architecture and Aaron’s project is one of the finest examples that we have seen.
