Placed in the context of the famous windmills in Zaanse Schans, Netherlands, Windworks project took place from 15-19 May. Zaanse Schans is located on the Zaan River in Holland and the home of a collection of well-preserved historic windmills. Each of these product another type of raw material. "There is a factory of color called De Kat (the cat), which was constructed to grind pigments, as well as a sawmill called ' Het Jonge Schaap ' (young sheep), saws planks from trees.

Karhof has created a 'wind Knitting Factory' in 2010 that knit scarves and other textiles using the energy to move the breezes. WindWorks extends this idea to create a complete collection of furniture. Karhof began by designing a collection of upholstered furniture. Each pillow of upholstery represents the amount of time required by the wind to make it. The sawmill cuts the wood, which is then transported to the factory of color. There is stained with dyes natural and handed over to the knitting mill, where the seal is constructed. Windworks project illustrates how windmills, working together can create a complete global industry.
