Plumbers and electricians often need to drill large-diameter holes (1/2 inch to 1 1/2 in diameter) in order to run pipes and cables through the studs and joists. For the most part, the paddle bit (a.k.a., spade's) is the most common choice. These bits drill quickly, although they do not drill the cleanest holes, and rashes on the back of the hole can occur easily. This isn't usually a concern for housing of the holes in the construction, woodworking projects, but it is a bit more of a problem. However, there are a few ways to use these forests and mitigate these problems. Learn how in drilling with pieces of Paddle.
